Edmonton police are appealing to the public for assistance in locating a suspect connected to an armed carjacking that occurred in the city's High Park neighbourhood earlier this month.

According to a news release issued by the Edmonton Police Service (EPS) on Wednesday, officers responded to a report at approximately 1:45 p.m. on May 10 in the area of 151 Street and 111 Avenue. A man armed with a firearm allegedly commandeered a taxi cab in the High Park area. The suspect was reportedly seen in St. Albert later that same day.
David Nelson St. Cyr, 34, is now wanted on Canada-wide warrants in connection with this incident. He faces a charge of theft of a motor vehicle with violence. Police have cautioned that St. Cyr should be considered armed and dangerous.
Suspect Description
St. Cyr is described as having an average build, with dark brown eyes and dark brown hair. A distinctive round birthmark is located on the side of his right cheek. At the time of the incident, he was last seen carrying a green backpack and wearing a black quilted jacket over a blue shirt, blue jeans, black shoes, and a black baseball hat.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the crime or St. Cyr's current whereabouts to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through Crime Stoppers.
This case remains under investigation, and police continue to follow up on leads. The public is reminded not to approach the suspect if spotted, but to call 911 immediately.
