Guilty Plea Entered in Fatal Abbotsford Confrontation
A significant development has occurred in a 2023 homicide case from Abbotsford. Chanchal Badwal, 48, has pleaded guilty to the charge of manslaughter in the death of 62-year-old Imtiaz Hussain.
The incident, which police described as an isolated event between two individuals who were acquainted, resulted in Hussain being found deceased on a property located in the 31000-block of Madeira Place on July 18, 2023. Following the discovery, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) took charge of the case.
Authorities moved quickly, arresting Badwal at the scene. He was formally charged with the offence the following day. The legal process reached a pivotal moment last Friday when Badwal entered his guilty plea in Abbotsford Provincial Court. His next scheduled court appearance is set for November 20.
