ICE Apprehends Adrian Walker, a High-Profile Canadian Fugitive in Mississippi

In a significant law enforcement operation, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has successfully arrested Adrian Vincent Walker, one of Canada's most wanted fugitives, in Tupelo, Mississippi. The 30-year-old was detained on March 23 as part of the Homeland Security Task Force's Operation Take Back America, according to a statement released by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Details of the Arrest and Charges

Walker is among Canada's top 25 most wanted individuals, sought for first-degree murder and attempted murder. He now faces U.S. charges for illegal entry into the country and illegal possession of a firearm. DHS officials have stated that they are uncertain about when Walker entered the United States, but he will be returned to Toronto to face his murder charges there.

Lauren Bis, acting assistant secretary, commented on the arrest, "Thanks to the brave men and women of ICE, one of Canada's most wanted criminals is behind bars. This illegal alien was wanted for a murder in Canada. He is now facing charges for illegal entry into the U.S. and illegal possession of a firearm. DHS is grateful to our law enforcement officers and partners who took this illegal alien off of our streets and behind bars where he will finally face justice for his crimes."

Background on the Case and Previous Incidents

Toronto Police had been actively searching for Walker following a shooting in May 2024 near Winona Drive and Vaughan Road, which resulted in the death of 31-year-old Trevor Dalton John. In that incident, Kemyan Franklin of Toronto was arrested and charged with murder. Walker has a prior criminal record, having served more than three years in prison for aggravated assault.

This is not the first time ICE has apprehended Canadian criminals. In 2019, the agency arrested and repatriated Sebastian Rosales, a Canadian with a lengthy criminal history who had entered the U.S. as a nonimmigrant visitor. Rosales was arrested on drug charges near a New Jersey school in 2017 and again in 2018 before being sent back to Montreal, where he was wanted on a narcotics conviction.

The arrest of Adrian Walker highlights the ongoing collaboration between U.S. and Canadian law enforcement agencies in tackling cross-border criminal activities and ensuring that fugitives are brought to justice.
