Leamington Man Faces Assault and Firearm Charges

A Leamington man is confronting nearly a dozen criminal charges after a police investigation earlier this week.

Charges Include Assault and Firearm Offences

The charges encompass uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, assault with a weapon, and multiple offences related to the possession and careless storage of a weapon, firearm, prohibited device, or ammunition.

Just before 5 a.m. on Wednesday, Ontario Provincial Police officers executed a search warrant at a residence on Fox Street.

As a result, a 28-year-old man was arrested and charged. As of Thursday, the accused remained in custody pending a bail hearing at a Windsor courthouse.

Involved in Wednesday’s search were members of the Essex County and Lambton Community Street Crime units, the OPP Emergency Response Team, the Canine Unit, and the Tactics and Response Unit.
