Man Arrested Six Days After Release for Breaching Conditions

Windsor police have arrested a 44-year-old man just six days after he was released from custody under strict supervision, alleging he violated his court-ordered conditions. The man, who was already facing charges of break and enter, possession of property obtained by crime, fraud, and using a stolen credit card, was released on May 20 with conditions requiring him to stay at a residence in the 500 block of Glengarry Avenue. He was also placed under electronic GPS monitoring as part of his release terms.

According to police, during a routine compliance check conducted by bail compliance officers, it was discovered that the man had failed to attend his approved residence. Officers subsequently located him on May 26 in the area of Pitt Street and McDougall Avenue and took him into custody. He now faces eight counts of failing to comply with a release order.

Bail compliance officers are part of the Offender Management Unit, a collaborative effort between the Windsor Police Service and the LaSalle Police Service. This unit is responsible for supervising high-risk individuals who are placed under house arrest, curfew conditions, or electronic monitoring. The program aims to ensure that individuals released from custody adhere to their conditions and to prevent further criminal activity.
