Vancouver police have launched a homicide investigation following a deadly stabbing that occurred on Monday afternoon in the city's prominent entertainment district. The incident, which took place on Granville Street, has resulted in the 26th homicide recorded in Vancouver for the year 2025.

Details of the Incident

Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Granville and Helmcken streets at approximately 3:15 p.m. after receiving reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, they discovered a man who had sustained critical injuries.

The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital; however, he was pronounced dead shortly after. The Vancouver Police Department has not yet publicly identified the man as their investigation continues.

Authorities have confirmed that no arrests have been made in connection with the stabbing. The area, known for its high concentration of bars, clubs, and restaurants, was cordoned off as forensic teams collected evidence.
