Ottawa Man, 23, Faces Multiple Child-Sex Offence Charges After OPP Investigation
The Upper Ottawa Valley detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police announced on April 2 that a 23-year-old Ottawa man has been charged with a series of serious child-sex offences. The charges stem from an investigation that began after police received information on March 21 regarding the possible luring of a child for sexual purposes.

According to a media release issued by the OPP, the accused, identified as Omer Yildirim, faces multiple counts related to sexual offences involving a child. The specific charges include two counts of sexual assault causing bodily harm, luring a person under 16 years of age by means of telecommunication, three counts of invitation to sexual touching under 16, two counts of sexual interference, possession of child abuse and exploitation material, and making sexually explicit material available to a person.
The OPP stated that Yildirim remained in custody as of Thursday, April 2, following the announcement of the charges. Police have emphasized the severity of the allegations and are continuing their investigation into the matter.
