York Regional Police have announced a significant drug trafficking bust, resulting in charges against six individuals and the seizure of over 100 kilograms of cocaine. The operation, which spanned three months and multiple jurisdictions, also netted a loaded firearm and a substantial amount of cash.
Multi-Jurisdictional Investigation Nets Major Haul
According to authorities, the investigation began in October 2025, targeting suspected cocaine trafficking networks. York police collaborated with several other agencies, including the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), South Simcoe Police, Barrie Police, Toronto Police, Durham Regional Police, and Correctional Service Canada.
Over the course of the probe, officers executed nine search warrants at locations across the Greater Toronto Area and northern Ontario. These included four residences and five storage lockers in Toronto, Vaughan, Barrie, Espanola, and Innisfil. An additional warrant was served at the Beaver Creek Institution in Gravenhurst.
Charges Laid and Contraband Seized
The searches led to the seizure of 102 kilograms of cocaine, a loaded prohibited firearm, and more than $135,000 in Canadian currency, believed to be proceeds of crime.
As a result, four men and two women now face a series of serious charges:
- Sherrie Donovan, 40, of Espanola, and William Donovan, 29, of Toronto: Both charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and conspiracy to traffic cocaine.
- Kevin Forde, 36, of Barrie: Charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, possession of a prohibited firearm, possession of prohibited devices, possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition, careless storage of a firearm, and possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000.
- Solange Khan, of Barrie: Faces the same charges as Kevin Forde, with an additional charge of conspiracy to traffic cocaine.
- Doniele Elie, 33, of no fixed address: Charged with conspiracy to traffic cocaine.
- John Novak, 67, of Espanola: Charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine.

This bust highlights the continued collaborative efforts of police forces across Ontario to combat organized crime and drug trafficking. The investigation remains active.
