A 21-year-old suspect has been arrested and charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man in East York, Toronto, earlier this week. The victim, identified as 27-year-old Ahmed Hassan Asif, was found behind a building with stab wounds and pronounced dead at the scene.

Toronto Police responded to an unknown trouble call in the area of Gamble and Donlands Avenues shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. Upon arrival, officers discovered Asif without vital signs. It is alleged that an altercation was heard at the rear of a building prior to the discovery.
The suspect fled before police arrived but was apprehended days later. Pratik Parajuli Thapa has been charged with second-degree murder and robbery. He is scheduled to appear in court on Sunday morning.

Authorities have indicated that the incident was not random, suggesting that the accused and victim knew each other. During the investigation, police seized a white BMW that was crashed on Gamble Avenue, which they believe is connected to the crime.
