Calgary police have issued a public appeal for assistance in identifying a suspect connected to a violent assault and robbery in a popular city park.

Violent Afternoon Attack in Park

The incident occurred in Fish Creek Provincial Park on Thursday, October 23, 2025, between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. According to authorities, a man was walking near the intersection of Bow Bottom Trail and 153 Avenue S.E. when he was approached by an unknown individual.

Investigators believe the suspect demanded the victim's personal belongings. When the victim resisted, a physical altercation broke out. During the struggle, the assailant produced a knife and stabbed the victim.

Suspect Description and Police Appeal

After robbing the injured man, the suspect fled the area on foot. Despite exhausting other investigative leads, Calgary Police Service (CPS) investigators have now turned to the community for help.

The wanted individual is described as:

  • A man in his late 40s
  • Approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall with a slim build and weighing about 170 pounds
  • He was last seen wearing a dark-coloured hoodie, a black baseball cap, blue jeans, and blue Adidas shoes with white stripes
