Toronto Man Accused of Luring Youth; Underage Victims Allegedly Sextorted

A 21-year-old Toronto man is facing more than a dozen charges after being accused of luring and sexually assaulting an underage victim. Toronto Police said they responded to a sexual assault call on Tuesday in the Bayview Ave.-Blythwood Rd. area of Lawrence Park after the victim was allegedly enticed to meet someone on Friday through SnapChat messages. They said the person used the handle K_Charles55 on the social media platform. Police alleged that the victim then met the accused and was sexually assaulted.

Kaden Charles-Robinson was charged with 17 offences including possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material, invitation to sexual touching to someone under 16 years of age, sexual interference, sexual assault with a weapon, making child sexual abuse and exploitation material and extortion. Markham Man Accused of Youth Sextortion Scheme

A 24-year-old Markham man is accused of an online sextortion scheme that allegedly targeted youths. Peel Regional Police said the internet child exploitation unit began an investigation in December into a man who allegedly used multiple social media platforms to lure underage victims. They said the accused – who used the alias Keshawn during his chats and had the usernames nicovalentino23 on Snapchat and Forgiveme1236 on Instagram – allegedly posed as an underage male to obtain explicit images that were used to extort the youth for sexual purposes.

Sugin Mohanathas was arrested on March 26 and charged with luring a child under 18, luring a child under 16, making sexually explicit material available to a person under 16, extortion and possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material. Investigators believe there may be additional victims and asked anyone with information to contact the ICE unit at 905-453-2121, Ext. 3490. Residence Targeted in Hamilton Shooting

Police are probing a shooting and other “targeted” incidents involving a residence in Hamilton’s west end. Hamilton Police said the first reported incident happened on Sunday at about 3:15 a.m. on Elodia Crt. in the Stone Church-Upper Paradise Rds. area, where a witness spotted a suspicious vehicle stopped in the neighbourhood. Officers spotted a grey Honda with its lights off when they arrived and arrested a suspect after a brief pursuit. A loaded handgun was also allegedly seized.

Police then received “multiple” 911 calls on Tuesday at about midnight after shots were fired at a residence on Elodia. Officers later found shell casings and multiple bullet holes in the garage door. A black Honda CR-V with the licence plate DANH 172 was seen fleeing the area after being reported stolen from Peel Region in May. Police said the occupants of the residence have been co-operating with investigators about these and other related incidents.
