The case involves allegations dating back to 2023, with police expressing concerns that there may be additional victims.
Details of the Investigation and Charges
The OPP major crime unit initiated an investigation in February after receiving a report of a sexual assault involving a young person. According to police statements released on social media, the incident occurred in 2023, prompting a thorough review of the circumstances.
As a result of the investigation, the unnamed individual from Uxbridge has been charged with sexual assault, sexual interference, and invitation to sexual touching under 16 years of age. At the time of the alleged incident, the accused was employed at Teen Ranch and also worked as an ice-skating instructor, roles that have raised alarms among investigators.
Potential for Additional Victims and Community Impact
Police have indicated that they believe there may be more victims connected to this case. In response, the OPP is urging parents and guardians to speak with their children about any possible instances of sexual misconduct that may have occurred through interactions with the accused in his professional capacities.
The OPP confirmed that the accused is no longer employed with Teen Ranch and noted that the organization has been fully cooperative throughout the investigation.
