A 32-year-old man from Wiikwemkoong has been charged with attempted murder following a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning. The Wikwemikong Tribal Police Service responded to a report of a shooting just after midnight on May 3. Officers arrived at the scene and located a victim who had sustained a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The suspect was arrested shortly thereafter. The accused appeared in bail court and has been remanded into custody. The investigation is ongoing.
