Windsor Police Arrest Female Suspect in Violent Home Invasion and Kidnapping

A 29-year-old woman has been taken into custody following what authorities describe as a violent robbery and kidnapping at an east-end Windsor residence last week. The Windsor Police Service announced the arrest of Alexis-Regine Gibbs Rogers on Monday, locating her at a motel in the 700 block of Exeter Road in London.

Charges and Incident Details

Gibbs Rogers now faces ten criminal charges, including robbery with an offensive weapon, assault causing bodily harm, forcible confinement, and kidnapping. She was transported back to Windsor to face these allegations.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred shortly before 1 a.m. on Thursday, April 16, at a home in the 2500 block of Lauzon Road. According to police reports, a male resident was attacked by three masked suspects armed with firearms. The assailants threatened and beat the victim before stealing his personal belongings and money.

Victim's Ordeal and Escape

Investigators revealed that after the initial assault, the complainant was held inside the home against his will. The suspects later attempted to force him into a vehicle, but he managed to escape and seek assistance from a nearby resident.

One of the suspects fled the scene in the victim's vehicle, which was later recovered unoccupied. The complainant sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Ongoing Investigation

This week's arrest came shortly after Windsor police published a photograph of a female suspect and requested public assistance in locating her. However, authorities continue to search for three unidentified male suspects believed to have been involved in the violent robbery and kidnapping.

Police are urging anyone with information about this incident to contact the Windsor Police Service's major crimes unit at 519-255-6700, extension 4830. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 519-258-8477 (TIPS) or through their online portal.

The investigation remains active as law enforcement works to identify and apprehend the remaining suspects involved in this disturbing case of home invasion and abduction.
