Windsor Police Seize $440,000 and Drugs in Major Bust, Arrest Three Men
In a significant law enforcement operation, the Windsor Police Service has arrested three men on drug and firearms charges, while recovering more than $440,000 in cash and narcotics. Authorities are actively searching for two additional suspects believed to be involved in a related attempted break-in.
Major Cash and Drug Seizure
The investigation began with the arrest of a 42-year-old man on March 5 in the 2500 block of Ouellette Avenue. Officers from the Windsor Police Service drugs and guns unit conducted the operation, seizing substantial evidence.
During the initial arrest, police found the suspect with $4,360 in Canadian currency and $60 in U.S. cash on his person. A subsequent search at a residence in the 1800 block of Factoria Road yielded far more significant discoveries:
- $308,900 in cash
- 942 oxycodone tablets in various dosages
- 1,142 hydromorphone tablets and capsules in various dosages
- 9.1 grams of broken hydromorphone capsules
- Four Suboxone tablets
- Four 100 mL bottles of methadone
Officers also confiscated a prohibited knife and three replica firearms during the search.
Additional Evidence from Vehicle Search
A search of the suspect's vehicle revealed further narcotics evidence:
- 22.3 grams of cocaine
- 1,859 oxycodone tablets in various dosages
- 181 hydromorphone tablets
- 132 hydromorphone capsules in various dosages
- 27 amphetamine capsules
Police also seized a digital scale, drug packaging materials, and an additional $685 in cash. The total estimated value of the confiscated drugs amounts to $131,227.
The 42-year-old man now faces 14 counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking, three prohibited weapon charges, and one count of possession of the proceeds of crime.
Attempted Break-in and Additional Arrests
The following morning, officers responded to reports of gunshots and an attempted break-in at the same Factoria Road residence. According to police statements, several suspects were observed fleeing the scene on foot, with additional gunshots heard as officers pursued them.
After a brief search of the area, authorities located and arrested two suspects without further incident. A loaded firearm was recovered from a nearby alley during the operation.
A 23-year-old man now faces multiple firearm-related charges, including discharging a firearm recklessly and attempted break and enter at a residence. A 31-year-old man has been charged with attempted break-and-enter at a dwelling house.
Ongoing Investigation
Police believe two additional suspects were involved in the attempted break-in and remain at large. The Windsor Police Service is urging anyone with information to come forward.
