A shocking incident of violence at a Miami gym has led to the arrest of a 35-year-old woman, after police say she brutally assaulted an employee who asked her to lower her voice.
Violent Confrontation Over Noise Complaint
The altercation occurred on December 12, 2025, at a Planet Fitness location. According to an arrest report obtained by WFOR, the gym member, identified as Kiara Bryant, became enraged when a male employee told her she could not yell inside the facility. The employee warned he would call police if she did not quiet down or leave.
The situation quickly escalated in the locker room. Authorities state Bryant got in the employee's face and was "aggressive towards him while balling her fists." The report notes the employee "pushed her back and away from him… in self-defence twice" before the attack intensified.
Chase, Attack, and Attempted Escape
What followed was a dramatic and violent sequence. Police say Bryant chased the employee, jumped over the service counter, and proceeded to punch him "repeatedly" in the face. After the assault, she exited the gym and tried to flee the scene.
Officers were initially called to the gym after reports of a woman "running without clothing." They found Bryant in the parking lot, allegedly yelling profanities and "attempting to fight everyone." Bystanders intervened, preventing her escape until police arrived and detained her.
In a twist captured on video, Bryant can be heard telling the injured employee, "Don't you ever hit a woman!" multiple times after the attack. She later told officers she got in his face and flinched at him aggressively because he told her she couldn't be disorderly, and then he pushed her.
Legal Repercussions and Statements
Bryant was arrested and is currently facing two misdemeanor charges: battery and disorderly conduct in an establishment. Her bond was set at $150. However, the legal fallout may not end there.
Alecsander Kohn, the lawyer representing the injured employee, told media that his client was left with significant injuries. "She took things too far, brutally battered our client, and ultimately left him in the hospital with a broken nose and severe emotional distress," Kohn stated. He advocates for the charges to be upgraded, calling it "a case of felony battery" that should reflect the severity of the injuries sustained.
Planet Fitness issued a firm statement in response to the incident, emphasizing their commitment to safety. "The safety of our employees and members is our top priority and we have zero tolerance for violence of any kind in our clubs," the statement read. It confirmed that the franchise owner worked with police and has canceled the membership of the individual involved.
This case highlights the potential for routine interactions in public spaces to erupt into serious violence, leaving lasting physical and emotional scars on victims.
