Calgary Canada Day 2025: Downtown Festivities & Fireworks

The City of Calgary's Canada Day celebrations are back this year, offering expanded locations across the city's downtown area. The free, family-friendly festivities encourage people to explore downtown while taking in experiences located across parks, plazas and riverfront spaces.

Event Locations and Timings

Prince's Island Park, Eau Claire Plaza, Sien Lok Park, the Municipal Building, Harry Hays green space, East Village and The Confluence Historic Site & Parkland will host events throughout the day.

Prince's Island Park

Activities will run from 2 to 9:30 p.m., and include the Canada Day main stage show, a playground and picnic spots, a family-friendly beer garden, rest and refresh areas and food vendors. The main stage performances begin at 2 p.m. and include Canadian artists Michela Sheedy, Micah Sage, Jamie Fine, Kardinal Offishall and Tia Wood. The finale will be performed by this year's headliner, Walk off the Earth.

The Confluence Historic Site & Parkland

Activities are scheduled from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., including the Indigenous Spotlight Powwow, an Indigenous artisans market, teaching tipis and trappers tents, the Sport Calgary hub — visitors can try inflatable soccer, luge, biathlon and ski jumping, and food vendors.

Municipal Building and Sien Lok Park

From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., enjoy cultural hands-on activities, a dragon walk, a lion dance, a cultural fashion show, a rest area and food vendors.

Eau Claire Plaza

From 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., festival-goers can take in live music and dance, face painting and temporary tattoos, a playground, a beach and water feature and food vendors.

East Village

Events run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with airbrush tattoos and face painting, a Tourism Calgary booth, an EAST Team booth, a Grey Cup display and food vendors lined up.

Fireworks and Shuttle

Celebrations will conclude with a fireworks show above Stampede Park at 11 p.m. The primary public viewing area will be the Max Bell Centre parking lot and surrounding green space. A free Canada Day shuttle will be available on July 1 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. between Eau Claire and East Village, with service approximately every 15 minutes.

“Canada Day is about coming together, and this year we’re inviting people to experience that spirit across downtown Calgary,” said Kristina Timms, event coordinator with The City of Calgary in a news release. “From activities and performances to the fireworks finale, we want people to come out, spend time together and enjoy a shared day of celebration, with each location offering a unique experience.”
