This incident comes as Calgary police continue to focus on pedestrian safety. Earlier this week, officers launched a new campaign targeting drivers who fail to yield to pedestrians at crosswalks. According to city data, there have been more than 200 pedestrian collisions so far this year, a slight increase from the same period in 2025.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage is asked to contact Calgary police or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
