A 57-year-old driver is dead following a single-vehicle crash on Mount Elgin Road near Ingersoll, Ontario, on Monday morning. The incident occurred just before 9 a.m. on June 22, 2026, according to Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
Crash Details and Response
OPP officers responded to reports of a vehicle that had left the roadway and struck a tree on Mount Elgin Road, between Plank Line and Highway 401. The driver, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
Police have not disclosed the cause of the crash, but the investigation is ongoing. Mount Elgin Road was closed for several hours for the investigation but has since reopened.
