One individual has been arrested after breaching runway security at Vancouver International Airport (YVR) on Monday, according to Richmond RCMP. The incident occurred around 4 a.m. at the main terminal, where the person made their way onto the runway and accessed an aircraft without authorization.
Police Response and Arrest
Both RCMP and airport security responded to the breach, and the individual was taken into custody without further incident. Cpl. Frank Bryson confirmed that the situation was resolved and one person is now in police custody. However, authorities declined to provide details on how the individual gained access to the runway and the aircraft, nor the type of aircraft involved.
