A pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious injuries after he was struck by an SUV that left the roadway in Centretown on Friday afternoon.

Details of the Incident

Multiple paramedic crews were dispatched to the intersection of Laurier Avenue and O’Connor Street at approximately 4:20 p.m. The SUV left the roadway and struck a building after hitting the pedestrian.

Victim Condition

The pedestrian, a man in his 20s, was on the sidewalk when he was hit. He sustained multi-system trauma and was transported to The Ottawa Hospital trauma centre in serious condition, according to paramedics.

Three people inside the SUV were assessed for injuries but were released at the scene.
