A 19-year-old woman from Wikwemikong has been charged with multiple offences following a traffic stop on February 1, 2026. The Wikwemikong Tribal Police Service conducted the stop after receiving a report of a stolen vehicle earlier that evening.

Traffic stop leads to drug and cash seizure

During the stop, police discovered that the driver was operating a vehicle while under suspension. A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the seizure of suspected drugs and an undisclosed amount of cash. The woman was arrested at the scene.

According to police, the investigation is ongoing, and further charges may be pending. The identity of the accused has not been released pending court proceedings.

The woman faces charges including possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime, and driving while under suspension. She was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
