Two men are in critical condition following a shooting at a gas station in Surrey early Sunday morning. The incident occurred at a Chevron station located in the 7100-block of 152nd Street.
Shortly before 4 a.m., Surrey police received reports of gunfire and arrived at the scene to find two men suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers immediately administered emergency medical aid before paramedics transported the victims to a local hospital, where they remain in critical condition.
Police Investigation Underway
Staff Sgt. Lindsey Houghton of the Surrey Police Service (SPS) confirmed that the SPS major crime section has taken over the investigation. Evidence collection is ongoing, and the intersection at 72nd Avenue and 152nd Street is expected to be closed for much of the morning as investigators process the scene.
Authorities have not released any suspect descriptions, and the motive behind the shooting remains unknown. However, Houghton stated that extortion is not believed to be a factor in this incident.
