Ottawa police are maintaining a large presence in and around Mooney's Bay Park on Sunday following violent confrontations Saturday night that resulted in two stabbings, one of them critical.
Paramedics received several calls just before 9 p.m. reporting multiple patients at the scene, with unconfirmed reports indicating hundreds of people were present, according to paramedics spokesperson Neil Martin.
Multiple units were dispatched, and paramedics found a young adult man with stab wounds. He was transported to a trauma centre in critical condition, with paramedics heavily involved in treatment during transport. A teenage female was also treated at the scene and taken to hospital in stable condition.
Social media images and messages show a large Ottawa police presence at the scene. Police said there will be no further update until Monday at the earliest.
