Comedian and political commentator Jon Stewart has made a bold prediction regarding former President Donald Trump's potential appearance in the Jeffrey Epstein documents, asserting with confidence that evidence will connect Trump to the notorious sex trafficker.
Email Evidence and Stewart's Reaction
During a taping of his "The Weekly Show" set to release Thursday, Stewart responded forcefully to producer Brittany Mehmedovic's suggestion that Trump appearing in the Epstein files remained a "very big if." The comedian pointed to newly released email correspondence from Epstein that directly references Trump.
Three emails released Wednesday by Democrats on the House Oversight Committee contain troubling references to the former president. In one message, the late sex offender alleged that Trump "knew about the girls" in his widespread sex-trafficking ring that victimized dozens of underage girls. Another email described Trump as the "dog that hasn't barked," while a third claimed one of Epstein's victims "spent hours at my house" with Trump.
The Political Fallout Question
When producers questioned whether Trump would lose political support if his name appears in the Epstein documents, Stewart delivered a blunt assessment: "No." This response shocked his production team, with lead producer Lauren Walker commenting that "it's really hard to imagine" such a scenario.
Producer Gillian Spear expressed skepticism about whether any new revelations could significantly impact Trump's support base. "I feel like if there was, like, we already have hit the threshold where it should be disqualifying with so many things with him," Spear noted. "What else would you need to see? Like, this guy was one of his best friends. Like, there's photos of them together."
Stewart amplified this point, joking that he's "seen more pictures of [Trump and Epstein] together than with some of my best friends" and noting they "have more of a scrapbook with each other than many of the people that I'm great friends with."
Looney Tunes Comparison and Political Reality
Stewart employed colorful analogies to describe Trump's ability to weather political storms, comparing him to Wile E. Coyote from Looney Tunes constantly failing to catch the Roadrunner. "Every time we keep thinking, 34 felonies, that'll get him, oh my God, that thing he said on 'Access Hollywood,' and every time Trump just comes in and goes, 'meep, meep' and flies away," Stewart remarked.
The commentator took his analysis further, suggesting that even dramatic evidence would likely not sway Trump's core supporters. "Trump could be discovered in photos of 'him and illegal sex-trafficked women from Epstein in a forced human caterpillar in Bora Bora and they'd find a way to say, 'Well, but Hunter Biden's laptop was worse and Burisma and it's fake and none of it ever happened,'" Stewart stated, referencing both the "Human Centipede" movie franchise and the ongoing controversy surrounding Hunter Biden's laptop.
Throughout the discussion, Stewart emphasized the established nature of Trump and Epstein's relationship, noting they weren't casual acquaintances but rather "international model buddies" who "played tickleball" rather than engaging in more conventional friendship activities.
The Justice Department announced in a July memo that investigators found no evidence Epstein maintained a "client list" before his 2019 death in a Manhattan jail cell, which was ruled a suicide. Trump has repeatedly denied any involvement with Epstein's crimes.
