Jon Stewart Compares Trump to Iron Man, Says MAGA Role Non-Transferable
Jon Stewart: Trump's MAGA Role Like Iron Man, Non-Transferable

"Daily Show" host Jon Stewart and longtime correspondent Jordan Klepper this week compared President Donald Trump's role in the MAGA-verse to Iron Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Since Iron Man was killed off in "Avengers: Endgame," the rudderless MCU has struggled to find its footing, leading Marvel to bring Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr. back in a new role as Doctor Doom.

According to Variety, Stewart told an FYC panel that Trump's own role in MAGA might, like Iron Man, be "non-transferable."

"Once they lose Iron Man, they can try and throw him back in there as Dr. Doom or some other thing," he said, then asked Klepper, who has spent years among Trump supporters at rallies and other events, if he thinks the MAGA crowd will "buy somebody else running that universe?"

Klepper predicted they wouldn't. "It is personality-based through and through," he said.

Stewart followed that with a prediction of his own, saying political analysts are wrong to assume that either Vice President JD Vance or Secretary of State Marco Rubio will inherit the MAGA mantle. "It's either going to be somebody with the Trump name and it's a family heirloom that's passed down, or whoever is the next leader of the Republican party will be inheriting an entirely different machine," he said.
