Details of the Incident
According to police, upon arrival, officers encountered a man who became aggressive and physically assaulted one of the responding officers. The officer sustained minor injuries but did not require hospitalization. The suspect was arrested at the scene without further incident.
Charges Laid
Kyle Morrison, 34, of Fergus, has been charged with:
- Assaulting a peace officer
- Resisting arrest
- Mischief under $5,000
- Uttering threats
- Fail to comply with a release order (two counts)
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
Morrison was held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear in court in Guelph on June 2, 2026.
