A man was hospitalized with critical injuries following a robbery inside a Scarborough apartment building late Saturday night. Toronto Police responded to the Kingston Road and Lawrence Avenue area shortly after 11 p.m. for an “unknown trouble” call inside an apartment building.
Incident Details
According to Toronto Police spokesperson Viktor Sarudi, the caller had found a man lying on the floor in a hallway. Officers arrived and located the victim, who was suffering from serious injuries. The man was transported to hospital, where his injuries were determined to be life-threatening.
Investigators reported that a woman was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and robbery. A second suspect remains outstanding, and a description was not immediately available.
Separate Incident in Kitchener
In a related case, a 30-year-old Hamilton man faces multiple weapon charges after a loaded firearm was recovered following an incident in Kitchener. Waterloo Regional Police responded at 12:20 a.m. to the King and Cedar Streets area for reports of a man brandishing a gun inside a nearby establishment.
Officers arrested the man and seized a loaded handgun and pellet gun. No injuries were reported. The man was charged with point firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless use of a firearm, possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and two counts each of carrying a concealed weapon and firearm or weapon: possession contrary to prohibition order.
