The Elizabeth Fry Society of Northeastern Ontario held a grand reopening and new initiatives launch in Sudbury on Friday, October 7, 2022. The event marked the return of services at the organization's Sudbury location, which had been temporarily closed.
Support for Women and Girls
The Elizabeth Fry Society provides support and advocacy for women and girls who are involved in or at risk of entering the criminal justice system. The reopening of the Sudbury location ensures continued access to critical programs and resources for the community.
New Initiatives Unveiled
During the ceremony, the organization unveiled several new initiatives aimed at expanding their reach and improving outcomes for clients. These include enhanced counseling services, educational workshops, and reintegration support for those leaving the justice system.
Staff and volunteers were on hand to welcome attendees and provide information about the available services. The event also featured speeches from community leaders and beneficiaries of the society's work.
