Regina Pats forward Zach Lansard is joining the Stanley Cup champions after being drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes in the third round of the 2026 NHL Draft.

Draft Details

On Saturday, the Hurricanes selected Lansard with the 68th overall pick. The 6-foot-0, 172-pound forward from Ste. Anne, Manitoba, turned 18 on July 29.

Strong WHL Season

Last season, Lansard recorded 24 goals and 32 assists for 56 points in 68 games with the Pats. He also added three goals in five playoff games. His performance followed a rookie campaign in 2024-25 where he had 19 points in 54 games.

Rankings and Background

Lansard played in the WHL prospects game last season and was ranked 70th among North American skaters in NHL Central Scouting's final draft rankings. He was originally drafted by the Pats in the fourth round, 78th overall, in the 2023 WHL Draft.
