Ex-Girlfriend Files Lawsuit Against Kansas City Chiefs Star Rashee Rice
Dacoda Nichole Jones, the former girlfriend of Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice, has initiated legal proceedings against the football star, accusing him of assaulting her over a two-year period. The lawsuit, obtained by TMZ Sports, details a pattern of alleged physical abuse that reportedly occurred between December 2023 and July 2025.
Allegations of Sustained Physical Abuse
According to court documents, Jones claims Rice subjected her to multiple forms of physical violence including choking, scratching, strangling, headbutting, and hitting. The mother of two children with Rice states that most of the alleged abuse took place while she was pregnant, resulting in what she describes as "bleeding, swelling, bruising and other pain" along with injuries to her neck, face, mouth, arms, legs, chest, and shoulder.
The lawsuit further alleges "other violent and abusive behaviours" from Rice, including punching walls, breaking furniture, and throwing objects at Jones. She is seeking more than $1 million in damages through the legal action.
Social Media Evidence and Team Response
In a December Instagram post that has since been deleted, Jones claimed she had "dealt with abuse for years" and described her life as "nothing but hell" since the relationship ended. The post reportedly included photographs showing bruises and scratches on her body and face. Jones stated in the post that she was tired of protecting "his" image and that "it's time to protect my peace, protect my children and stand up for myself."
The Kansas City Chiefs have acknowledged awareness of the allegations against Rice. In an official statement, the team confirmed they "are aware & remain in communication with the National Football League" regarding the matter, as reported by ESPN writer Nate Taylor.
NFL Investigation Underway
Following the public disclosure of these allegations, the National Football League has launched an investigation into Rice for potential violations of its Personal Conduct Policy. The case remains active according to reports from the New York Post, indicating ongoing scrutiny of the wide receiver's conduct both on and off the field.
Jones, who attended the Women of the NFL and Nordstrom Host Super Bowl Happy Hour in Las Vegas in February 2024, has taken legal action that could have significant implications for Rice's professional career and personal reputation. The lawsuit represents a serious challenge for the Chiefs player as he faces both civil litigation and league disciplinary proceedings.
