Samantha Busch has spoken publicly for the first time since the heartbreaking passing of her husband, NASCAR legend Kyle Busch, more than two weeks ago. She shared an emotional message on social media alongside a family portrait, thanking fans for their unwavering support.
The love that has surrounded our family during this unimaginable time has brought comfort in the middle of so much pain, Busch wrote on Instagram. While our hearts are absolutely shattered, we have felt God's presence and arms wrapped tightly around us through each and every one of you.
Kyle Busch, a stock car driver and racing team owner, died on May 21 at age 41 after being admitted to a Charlotte, North Carolina, hospital with a sudden and severe illness. The family confirmed that severe pneumonia and sepsis were the cause of death.
Knowing the impact Kyle had on others and seeing how they are honoring him through each unique act of generosity is a true testament to how special Kyle is to so many people, she continued.
Busch emphasized that her faith in God has helped her family navigate the difficult days since her husband's passing. There are moments when the weight of this loss feels impossible to carry, yet time and time again God, through you all, has shown us we are not alone, she wrote.
She also expressed gratitude to fans for loving and honoring Kyle. From family and friends to fans and complete strangers, thank you for showing up for us. Thank you for loving our family so well. We may never find the words to fully express what your support has meant to us, but please know that we are deeply grateful.
The racer leaves behind 11-year-old son Brexton and four-year-old daughter Lennix. The Busch family continues to receive an outpouring of support from the NASCAR community and fans worldwide.
