House Republicans faced a wave of mockery after posting a dramatic video tribute to Donald Trump that critics dismissed as artificial intelligence-generated propaganda.
The GOP's official X account shared the clip on Sunday, which had originally been posted by Trump on his Truth Social platform. The video featured Air Force One soaring through the sky, surrounded by a military aircraft escort, with the caption: 'AMERICA IS BACK. We're so lucky to live in the most powerful nation in the history of the world.'
However, the post quickly attracted critical comments. Many users argued that Republicans should focus on pressing issues such as the cost-of-living crisis and ending Trump's military engagement with Iran, rather than sharing what they called 'AI slop.'
One commenter noted: 'You do know this is AI right? Hits different when our airforce is AI.' Others described the video as 'pathetic' and 'child's play for grown-ups.'
Another user wrote: 'The most powerful nation & army just lost a war against a mid regional power—Iran, supposedly weakened after decades of imposed sanctions. The only power you have is dropping bombs from the sky and killing civilians.'
Critics also highlighted domestic issues. One comment stated: 'Now open a homeless shelter and have a look around. The most powerful nation in history somehow has people sleeping under bridges, living in tents, and struggling to afford healthcare. Power isn't just measured by aircraft carriers and military.'
