Katie Miller thinks her 'dear husband' should be celebrated, actually. On Monday, Fox News' Laura Ingraham asked the podcaster about an observation social media users made about her husband, White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller, during the White House Correspondents' Dinner shooting.
An image of the couple during the shooting showed Stephen Miller behind his pregnant wife, leading many to suggest that he was using her as a 'human shield.' But Ingraham seemed eager to dwell on the fact that people thought Donald Trump's adviser was just being a straight-up coward.
'Katie, what they were saying was that Stephen was using you as a human shield,' Ingraham said with a laugh. 'I'm sorry, I saw that, and I said, 'They're really desperate at this point.' Now they're just trying anything. Throwing anything out there.'
'They really can't let Stephen Miller have a good news cycle,' his wife agreed. 'He's done so much for this country thanks to President Trump. President Trump has been at the [forefront] of changing this country and fulfilling every single campaign promise, my husband at his side, for years now, Laura.' She then expressed frustration about her husband's constant negative press. 'And they could not give Stephen Miller a good news cycle if they tried. They had to make me the target. And you know what? To that, I would say Stephen did a phenomenal job, and he was behind me, and protecting not only me but our baby.' After the image of the Millers at the White House Correspondents' dinner hit X, plenty of social media users saw otherwise.
Using your pregnant wife as a human shield is honestly so vile pic.twitter.com/0b1uJ01HQy— evan loves worf (@esjesjesj) April 26, 2026Stephen miller with his back covered by security and his front covered by his pregnant wife. I've seen all I need to see. pic.twitter.com/HZVqS8ghbu— Adam (@adamemedia1) April 27, 2026Even after Katie Miller's remarks to Ingraham were shared on X, people were still pretty skeptical.
Protecting from behind. Sure Katie, sure— Martina Navratilova (@Martina) April 28, 2026And although some X users zeroed in on the fact that Stephen Miller was positioned behind his wife, many, many more were way more focused on where he had placed his hand.
Using someone as a shield in a shooting is already horrific. Groping her at the same time is beyond depravity.— ????? ? 'He wasn't going to put his hands on my stomach, because that's where our baby is,' she said. 'And so he just moved his hands upward. And of course, you don't notice that in the moment.'
