Two Women Charged in Windsor Distraction Theft Probe

Windsor police have charged two women in connection with a distraction theft investigation, authorities announced Wednesday. The suspects are accused of working together to distract victims and steal their belongings in several incidents across the city.

Details of the Investigation

According to police, the thefts occurred between May and June 2026. The women allegedly approached victims in public places, such as parking lots and shopping centers, using a ruse to divert attention while one of them stole wallets, purses, or other valuables. Investigators believe there may be additional victims.

“These suspects were sophisticated in their approach, often working as a team to create confusion,” said Windsor Police Service spokesperson Constable Sarah Wright. “We urge anyone who may have been targeted to come forward.”
