Calgary police have laid charges against two men following a string of mailbox thefts in the Skyview Ranch neighborhood. The arrests were made after an investigation by the Calgary Police Service's District 3 office, which began in early April 2026 when multiple residents reported missing mail and damaged community mailboxes.
Details of the Charges
According to police, the suspects are accused of using tools to break into Canada Post community mailboxes and steal envelopes, packages, and personal documents. Officers executed a search warrant at a residence in the northeast on April 25, recovering stolen mail, identification documents, and tools believed to have been used in the thefts.
Two men, aged 34 and 39, face multiple charges including theft under $5,000, possession of stolen property, and mischief to property. They were released on conditions and are scheduled to appear in court in May.
Police Advice for Residents
Investigators urge residents to collect mail promptly and report any suspicious activity around mailboxes. Canada Post has been notified and is working with police to enhance security measures in the area. Anyone with information is asked to contact Calgary police or Crime Stoppers.
