NexGold Announces Promising Drill Results from Goldlund Deposit in Ontario

NexGold Mining Corp. has released additional findings from its ongoing diamond drilling program at the Goldlund Deposit, part of the Goliath Gold Complex in Ontario. The company reported significant gold intercepts, including a notable 9.30 grams per tonne (g/t) over 11.0 metres, reinforcing the deposit's potential for open-pit and deeper underground mining operations.

Detailed Drill Results Show Strong Mineralization

The latest results encompass 1,883 metres of diamond drilling across five drill holes (GL-25-009 to GL-25-011, GL-25-013, and GL-25-014), focused on infilling and potentially expanding open-pit mineral resources within Zone 4 of the Goldlund Deposit. Key intercepts include:

  • 9.30 g/t gold over 11.0 metres in drill hole GL-25-010, with higher-grade sections of 64.10 g/t over 0.9 metres and 39.70 g/t over 1.0 metres.
  • 2.31 g/t gold over 21.5 metres in drill hole GL-25-011, including intervals of 30.10 g/t over 0.7 metres and 24.5 g/t over 0.5 metres.
  • 1.18 g/t gold over 33.5 metres in drill hole GL-25-009, with an additional high-grade intercept of 62.30 g/t over 1.0 metres.
  • 2.34 g/t gold over 10.2 metres in drill hole GL-25-013 and 1.03 g/t gold over 16.5 metres in drill hole GL-25-014, the latter also showing 28.9 g/t over 1.5 metres.

These results are part of a broader 25,000-metre drilling program aimed at optimizing the Goliath Gold Complex, which includes the Goliath, Goldlund, and Miller Deposits.

CEO Comments on Mineralization Continuity and Future Plans

Kevin Bullock, President and CEO of NexGold, emphasized the importance of these findings. "These additional drill results from the infill drill program at Goldlund demonstrate a strong tenor of gold mineralization at deeper levels of a planned open pit," he stated. "They strengthen our belief that mineralization has strong continuity at depth, which is crucial for both open-pit and potential underground mining scenarios."

Bullock added that the data will support ongoing efforts to enhance the geological model and upgrade mineral resource confidence. Mineralization remains open along strike and at depth, presenting opportunities for follow-up targets and future resource expansion.

Geological Context and Implications

The Goldlund Deposit features quartz stockwork veining within sub-vertical granodiorite sills, with Zone 4 characterized by wide intervals of mineralized intermediate-mafic volcanic rocks and multiple intrusions. The latest drill holes provide further evidence of grade continuity in Zone 4, aiding in refining geological interpretations and resource estimates.

As NexGold continues drilling at deeper levels, the company is gathering critical information to test the continuity of high-grade mineralization, aligning with strategies for potential underground mining. These efforts underscore the deposit's viability and the company's commitment to advancing the Goliath Gold Complex as a significant gold-producing asset in Ontario.
