Quince Favorites: 9 Must-Haves and 1 Miss Worth Knowing
Quince Favorites: 9 Must-Haves and 1 Miss

If you ask anyone what my love language is, it is Quince. I live in nearly every item I own from them — from the soft-as-butter cashmere tees to the bamboo cotton pajamas to the European linen pants. Not only are the prices impossible to beat ($50 for cashmere!), their customer service and return policy make the deals even sweeter.

It is not just for clothes, either — the brand’s home items are also worth every single penny (just ask my daughter, who refuses to sleep in her own bed because my Quince linen sheets are just that comfy).

Of course, as much as I love this retailer, there have been a few misses, too. This guide will show you the absolute best pieces to purchase that are worth the price, as well as two that did not meet the mark.

1. Cashmere Tee: A Year-Round Staple

When I say I live in this soft cashmere tee, I am not lying. I have this tee in four colors, and rotate them from fall to spring and back. I have honestly even worn this with linen shorts on a trip to Europe, and it held up incredibly well against the searing Barcelona sun. Beyond the material, which is buttery, the fit is true to size and very flattering, and this tee looks just as cute with a pair of jeans as it does dress pants. The only thing to note: it is made from real Mongolian cashmere, so be sure to hand wash or dry clean only to avoid the material shrinking in the washer and dryer. $45 at Quince.

2. Statement Silk Pants: Versatile and Washable

If I had to describe myself, I would say I am pretty low maintenance. Sure, I love to dress up when the occasion calls for it, but I am more of a leggings and T-shirt kind of gal most of the time. However, when I first got these silky pants in a gorgeous butter yellow, I changed my tune a little. I have worn these to work, to a fancy dinner with my husband, and even packed them on a Caribbean trip to wear around town. What makes these pants work for a low-frills gal like myself is the fact they are washable. Yes, completely machine washable. I love to pair these with a body suit for a really polished look, but they are just as cute with a cropped tee too. $90 at Quince.

3. Organic Cotton Crewneck: Cozy and Practical

No matter where I am headed, a sweater is coming with me. Call it the millennial in me, but I like being ready for a random cold front or that annoying little breeze that shows up the second the sun goes down. This crewneck sweater happens to be practical and very cute, which is really all I ask. I have worn it in Tahoe, on flights, and back home in Chicago. It is made from 100 percent organic cotton, so it feels soft and breathable without getting too heavy. And the slightly slouchy, cropped fit is flattering without trying too hard. It looks especially good with jeans or a silk skirt. $42 at Quince.

4. Linen Skirt: European Summer Essential

One trend I will always get behind is the one centered around the European summer wardrobe. As an American, there is no greater compliment than being mistaken for a European, and that is my number one goal for my trip there this summer. That is why I bought this linen skirt in four colors (yes, you read that right) to ensure I have a basic for literally any occasion — from dinner on our cruise ship to wine tasting in Provence to clocking 16,000 steps in Madrid. The material is ultra breathable, does not wrinkle, and is easily washable. I also love the silhouette, with a high slit for a little sex appeal paired with an elastic waist that allows for an extra baguette or scoop of gelato. Très magnifique! $50 at Quince.

5. Perfume: Affordable Luxury Scent

There is nothing I love more than a new scent, and I have been trying my best to collect perfumes on a budget. (If I were richer, I would be the woman who has an entire cabinet full of perfumes.) And honestly, some are big hits and some are even bigger misses. This Quince fragrance falls into the first category without question. When I got this, I did not have high hopes. A fresh, floral fragrance that does not smell like chemicals or cheap for under $50 is hard to find, but I have definitely found it with this one. A blend of juicy black cherry, Turkish rose, and Tonka bean, this scent not only smells light and airy, I find it stays on for hours (up to four for me). $50 at Quince.

6. European Linen Bedding: Hotel-Quality Comfort

If you want your bed to feel like one in a Four Seasons, I recommend buying this sheet bundle. As I alluded to earlier, these incredible European linen sheets are the reason my 7-year-old will not sleep in any other bed but my own. I got these in sets — first the sheets, then the duvet cover, and then the extra pillowcases. Trust me when I say this, you will save HUNDREDS if you buy the bundle together. I have already asked my husband for another set for Mother's Day. Even after 10+ washes and dries, the material feels brand new. In fact, it is actually softer, making it even harder to get out of bed to go to work. The light blue gingham is my favorite color way, but I am eyeing the mist stripe too to add to the coastal, cozy vibes of my bedroom. $260+ at Quince.

7. Suede Clogs: Birkenstock Dupe

Quince’s take on the Birkenstock Boston clog is fire, as the kids say. The suede is ultra-soft, and these feel so incredibly good on your feet, from the first wear. There is no breaking in period — I wore these right out of the box to work and did not have a single concern. Arguably my favorite feature is the suede, which is not just soft, but water repellent too. Even a little rain did not damage these. These are not just great for commuting, they are lightweight too, and can fit easily into even the tightest carry-on suitcases. $74 at Quince.

8. Italian Leather Tote: Everyday Elegance

What woman does not need (or want) a high-quality leather tote bag? Whether you are commuting to work, stuffing kid's snacks and wipes for a playdate, or needing a bag that doubles as a purse on a travel day, this Italian leather tote is your girl. I have it in black, and may purchase in cognac brown as well. It is so incredibly soft, and feels like a bag that should be over $300 versus the less than $105 it is on Quince. It also fits so much. For me, it can carry my MacBook Air, iPhone, passport, wallet, lotion, make-up, and an iPad. $104 at Quince.

9. Suitcase Set: Reliable Travel Companion

As a travel writer, I have reviewed my share of suitcases. In fact, I think I own one of each major brand, in either a check-in size, carry-on size, or both. We have an entire room dedicated to suitcase storage. So when I test-drove this bundle from Quince, I admittedly did not have high expectations. And to be honest, both check-in and carry-on sizes are good suitcases. The hard cover keeps everything safe inside, and they do not show as many scuffs as some other brands (although that could be the dark green color we chose for that exact reason). The only con is I wish the inside compartments had more storage, and more organization. You get what you pay for, and I still prefer the more expensive suitcases in my collection for the sake of organization. However, if you are looking for a reliable case that will get you from point A to point B (with a secure TSA-approved lock and 360-degree spinner wheels), these will not let you down. $170 at Quince.

10. Miss: Jeans Not Worth the Price

I really, really, really wanted these jeans to work. After losing 50 pounds, I had to buy all new jeans. Normally, this is something I find really exciting. However, after I purchased these and tried them on, I was really disappointed. To start, they were way too short, despite buying the regular inseam. As a girl who is just 5'6, I was shocked to see just how short they were. Additionally, these were incredibly stiff. Even after a few washes, they never softened like other brands. Every time I wore them, they felt really uncomfortable and did not really give me the long legs and high waist I was going for. In my opinion, I would save the $50 and buy your jeans from other retailers. However, I did buy them a year ago, so I am hopeful they have maybe updated the material and these jeans are actually much more of a hit these days! $50 at Quince.
