TD Bank is making a significant change to its advertising at Rogers Centre, responding to fan feedback about a bright green ad behind home plate. The Canadian bank announced on Instagram that it will replace the vibrant green advertisement with a more subtle version that blends with the turf.
Fan-Friendly Change
In a post on social media, TD Canada revealed the new ad design, which features a turf background instead of the bright green that had drawn complaints from viewers. The caption read: "Blue Jays fans, when you asked us to ‘turn down the brightness,’ we heard you. Introducing ‘Turf Green,’ a new background matched to the turf, so we all can focus on what matters: Baseball and our love of the game."
Overwhelmingly Positive Reaction
Fans reacted positively to the announcement, with many expressing relief. One Reddit user commented, "I very honestly thought there was no chance they would change it. Thank god." Another wrote, "Thank God. Their new bright green branding colour is so distracting." Some fans even compared the move to major in-season trades, while others suggested further changes, such as altering the TD logo on the team's jersey sleeves or the dark grey bricks behind the seats.
Next Home Game
Fans will have to wait to see the new ad in person, as the Blue Jays are currently on a seven-game road trip. After a 7-1 loss to the Minnesota Twins on Thursday, the team continues its series in Minnesota before heading to Florida to face the Tampa Bay Rays. The next home game at Rogers Centre is scheduled for Friday, May 8, against the Los Angeles Angels.
