Delta Passenger Arrested for Refusing to End Phone Call

A disruptive passenger on a Delta Air Lines flight from Miami to Atlanta was removed from the plane and arrested on Monday after she allegedly refused to end a phone call, sparking frustration among fellow travelers. According to a video obtained by Fox 5 Atlanta, passengers could be heard trying to reason with the woman, with some urging her to be considerate and others directly calling for airline staff to intervene.

Incident Details

The situation escalated when the woman, identified by police as Shannon Marie Harris, 47, of Tyrone, Georgia, reportedly became belligerent toward airline employees. The captain decided to return to the gate to have her removed. Once at the gate, a Delta supervisor asked Harris to voluntarily leave the aircraft, but she refused, prompting authorities to be called.

When Harris continued to refuse to exit the plane, the airline made the decision to deplane all passengers to allow law enforcement to handle the matter. The flight eventually departed about an hour late due to the disruption.

Arrest and Charges

Harris was arrested and booked on trespassing charges, according to the arrest report. Video footage showed passengers cheering as law enforcement officers entered the plane and asked Harris to leave. Arrest records indicate she was released on a $500 bond on Tuesday. Harris did not have an attorney listed on record.

The incident highlights ongoing issues with unruly passengers on commercial flights, with airlines and authorities increasingly taking a firm stance against disruptive behavior.
