A tragic motor vehicle collision in Langley on Wednesday evening has claimed one life and led to significant traffic disruptions as emergency crews respond to the scene.
Highway 13 Shutdown After Fatal Incident
The evening commute turned deadly for one motorist in Langley, prompting a complete closure of Highway 13 between 32nd and 36th Avenues. The Langley RCMP, Township of Langley fire department, and B.C. Ambulance service were dispatched to the 3300 block of 264th Street just before 5 p.m. following reports of a serious accident.
One Fatality Confirmed at Scene
Despite immediate life-saving efforts by first responders, one individual tragically succumbed to their injuries at the location of the collision. Sgt. Zynal Sharoom of the Langley RCMP confirmed the fatality, stating that investigators are working diligently to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
The road closure is expected to remain in effect for several hours as authorities conduct their investigation and clear the scene. Traffic on Fraser Highway, which intersects just south of the incident location, has also been significantly impacted by the ongoing emergency response.

Authorities are strongly advising drivers to avoid the affected area entirely and seek alternative routes for their travel. The closure affects both directions of Highway 13, creating substantial disruptions for commuters and local residents.
