Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid revealed that comedian and actor Adam Sandler officiated the wedding of pop superstar Taylor Swift and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce last week. Reid, who attended the ceremony, praised Sandler for bringing “a little bit of humor, but also some sensitivity” to the event.
Sandler's Role as Officiant
Reid noted that the guest list included “a lot of different types of people from a lot of different types of worlds,” but Sandler did “a phenomenal job” in uniting them. Sandler, who has been married to Jackie Sandler for 23 years, also imparted marriage advice to the newlyweds.
Advice for the Couple
“He said, ‘Kiss every chance you have, every day,’” Reid recalled. Over the weekend, Reid narrated “Music and the Spoken Word,” a special broadcast for the nation’s 250th anniversary. At a press conference for the event, he expanded on Sandler’s advice in response to a question from Krysyan Edler of Deseret News.
“It’s hard to argue when you give your wife a kiss or your wife gives you a kiss,” Reid said. “And make sure you do it every day, every minute that you have an opportunity to do it. Knock it out and you won’t have problems.”
Reid's Endorsement
Reid called the advice “pretty good advice,” emphasizing the importance of regular affection in marriage.
