Hudson Williams donates to B.C. Children's Hospital at Globes

Vancouver actor Hudson Williams turned a moment on the Golden Globes red carpet into a meaningful act of charity, directing a $1000 donation to B.C. Children's Hospital during the star-studded event in Los Angeles.

A Personal Choice for a Lifesaving Cause

The donation opportunity arose on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at the 83rd annual Golden Globes Awards. Williams, who was at the event to present alongside his Heated Rivalry co-star Connor Storrie, was interviewed on the red carpet by ET reporter Danny Directo. At the conclusion of their chat, Directo revealed that champagne company Moet wanted to donate $1,000 to a charity of Williams's choosing.

The actor's decision was immediate and deeply personal. "B.C. Children's Hospital kind of saved my life when I was a little baby, so selfishly if we could save some more babies over there, that would be great," Williams explained. Born in Kamloops in 2001, the actor has shared little about his early life publicly, making this heartfelt revelation particularly significant.

Teasing Season 2 of 'Heated Rivalry'

Earlier in the same red carpet interview, Williams addressed burning questions about the future of his hit show, Heated Rivalry. When asked by Directo about the "No. 1 question" he wants answered for his character Shane and Storrie's character Illya in the show's second season, Williams was clear about his hopes.

"I want to see them in a relationship," said Williams. "We see them get into a relationship. We don't see them in one. Seeing them deal with s--t everyone has to deal with would be really nice — the real stuff." The Crave Originals series, based on romance novels by Nova Scotia author Rachel Reid, follows the secret love affair between two gay professional hockey players and has garnered a massive fanbase.

A Rising Star in the Spotlight

The Golden Globes appearance marks the latest in a series of high-profile moments for the Vancouver-born actor. Williams has recently been featured on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and CNN to promote the wildly popular series, cementing his status as a breakout star.

His choice to support B.C. Children's Hospital not only highlights a vital healthcare institution for young British Columbians but also connects his global spotlight directly back to his home province, showcasing a commitment to his roots during a career-defining moment.
