Jennifer Lopez Embraces Single Life: 'I Should Have Done It Sooner'
Jennifer Lopez Says She's Loving Single Life

Could someone kindly direct Jennifer Lopez to her closest animal shelter — because she's single, loving it and just needs a few more cats to make the transition complete.

Jennifer Lopez Confirms She's Single

On Wednesday, the rom-com queen confirmed to Jimmy Kimmel that she is single. "I should have done it sooner!" Lopez said, causing the studio audience to erupt with applause, laughter and a few gasps.

"I've been doing it all wrong," Lopez continued with a laugh. "I've been doing it all wrong, trust me."

The remarks feel especially spicy considering they were made just two years after her divorce from Ben Affleck. The former couple, dubbed "Bennifer," became a tabloid obsession in the early 2000s when they first began to date after meeting on the set of the box office dud, "Gigli." They eventually called off their engagement in 2003, citing "the excessive media attention" they were receiving.

A History of High-Profile Relationships

Two decades later, the "Out of Sight" star would describe canceling their nuptials as the "biggest heartbreak" of her life. In 2021, they rekindled their romance and tied the knot in 2022 before splitting for good in 2024.

Aside from her romance with Affleck, the "Maid in Manhattan" star is known for being a serial monogamist who is rarely single and has dated — and married — quite a few men. So much so, that she could be considered the Elizabeth Taylor of her generation.

Content with Solitude

But, at least during her appearance on Kimmel, Lopez seemed pretty content with being in a relationship with just herself. When Kimmel asked if she'd consider being the next "Bachelorette," she emphatically said, "No!"

"Are you crazy?" Lopez said. "I'm not doing anything to ruin how I feel right now. It's fantastic. I love it."

When Kimmel mentioned it might be difficult for her to meet someone considering her fame, Lopez waved it off. "I'll meet somebody somewhere one day, if they're good enough, I don't know," she said.

Well, with that attitude, we'd like to present Lopez with a bathtub caddy, a Magic Wand and more free time to spend however you see fit. Welcome to the single cat lady club, JLo. It's peaceful.
