Joy Behar Tells JD Vance He Has ‘Good Vibe’ for President

Joy Behar encouraged Vice President JD Vance to run for president because he had a good vibe during a break on “The View.” Following the veep’s appearance on the left-leaning coffee klatch Tuesday, Behar told executive producer Brian Teta that Vance is not a “bad guy” and would be “kinder” as president.

The surprisingly generous comments emerged on Teta’s “Behind the Table” podcast after “The View” peppered Vance with questions about immigration, the Jeffrey Epstein files and reconciling his Catholic faith with what many see as the cruelty of the Trump administration. Vance was promoting his new book about faith. The panelists also turned on each other.

Behar counted Vance among politicians who became less open-minded and more cruel under President Donald Trump, as if they’d been replaced by “body snatchers.” “I think if he were president, he would go back to being a kinder person,” she said.

Teta noted, “You told him during the break that he should run for president because he has a good vibe.” “For a Republican, mind you,” Behar said. “Truthfully, as I said to you at the beginning of this conversation, I don’t think that he’s a bad guy,” she explained later. “So if he runs against, say, Gavin Newsom, that would be an interesting debate to see those two because they’re both intelligent.”

Behar clarified she wasn’t going to the other side and claimed she had never voted for a Republican, except maybe Michael Bloomberg for New York City mayor. In a moment where she praised Vance, Teta asked, “Is this an endorsement of JD Vance?” Replied Behar: “No, because I’m not voting for him anyway, especially if he runs against one of the good Democrats that we have out there.”
