A man is facing charges following an assault on a woman near Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, according to RCMP. The incident took place on June 16, 2026, when police responded to a report of an assault in a parking lot on Highway 325 in Cookville. Officers arrived and found a woman with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect, a 34-year-old man from Bridgewater, was arrested at the scene without incident. He has been charged with assault causing bodily harm and uttering threats. The accused is scheduled to appear in Bridgewater provincial court at a later date.
