Kevin Spacey Reveals He's Homeless Amid Financial Struggles
Kevin Spacey Says He's Homeless and Broke

Academy Award-winning actor Kevin Spacey has revealed he is currently homeless and facing severe financial difficulties, marking a dramatic fall from grace for the once-revered Hollywood star.

From Hollywood Elite to Hotel Hopping

In a candid interview with The Telegraph, Spacey disclosed that he's been living out of hotels and Airbnbs while trying to rebuild his career. The actor confirmed he has "no home" and described his current living situation as transient, moving wherever work opportunities arise.

"I'm living in hotels, I'm living in Airbnbs, I'm going where the work is," Spacey explained during the interview published in November 2025. "I literally have no home, that's what I'm attempting to explain."

Financial Collapse Following Allegations

The dramatic shift in circumstances began in 2017 when actor Anthony Rapp came forward with sexual assault allegations against Spacey. Rapp claimed the incident occurred in 1986 when he was just 14 years old and Spacey was 27.

The aftermath was swift and devastating for Spacey's career. Netflix dropped him from House of Cards amid the controversy, and dozens of other men subsequently came forward with similar abuse allegations.

Spacey revealed the financial toll has been "astronomical" over the past seven years. "I've had very little coming in and everything going out," he stated, though he noted he never reached the point of filing for bankruptcy.

Legal Battles and Career Consequences

Despite being found not liable in the 2022 civil sexual battery case brought by Rapp and being acquitted of multiple sexual offences against four men in 2023, Spacey's career never recovered its former momentum.

The actor has maintained his innocence throughout the legal proceedings but has seen his professional opportunities diminish significantly. While he has worked in smaller productions and has four upcoming projects listed on IMDB, these represent a fraction of the high-profile work he previously commanded.

Spacey's longtime Baltimore residence was auctioned off, and he now keeps all his possessions in storage while hoping to eventually "decide where I want to settle down again."

Attempting a Comeback

Spacey recently performed a one-night "Songs & Stories" show with a jazz band at a resort in Cyprus, with tickets priced from £220 (approximately C$405) up to a £1,100 VIP package that included a meet-and-greet opportunity.

The actor remains optimistic about returning to mainstream Hollywood, suggesting that influential directors like Martin Scorsese or Quentin Tarantino could help facilitate his comeback. "We are in touch with some extremely powerful people who want to put me back to work," Spacey revealed.

He believes the industry is waiting for "permission" from respected figures before welcoming him back. "So, my feeling is if Martin Scorsese or Quentin Tarantino call Evan tomorrow, it will be over," he added, referring to his manager Evan Lowenstein.
