Kevin Spacey Declares Homelessness After Costly Legal Battles
Kevin Spacey Says He's Officially Homeless

Academy Award-winning actor Kevin Spacey has revealed he is officially homeless after years of costly legal battles stemming from multiple sexual misconduct allegations. The actor disclosed his current living situation during an interview with The Telegraph published Wednesday.

Financial Ruin and Lost Home

Spacey explained that he has been living in hotels and Airbnbs while performing at a nightclub in Cyprus. He recently lost his Baltimore, Maryland home in foreclosure, marking a dramatic fall from his previous Hollywood success. "I literally have no home, that's what I'm attempting to explain," Spacey told the publication.

The actor described the financial impact of his legal troubles as devastating. "The costs over these last seven years have been astronomical," he stated. "I've had very little coming in and everything going out."

Allegations and Legal Outcomes

Spacey's career began unraveling in 2017 when numerous sexual assault and harassment allegations surfaced against him. His accusers included Anthony Rapp, star of "Rent," who claimed Spacey made sexual advances toward him when he was just 14 years old. Harry Dreyfuss, son of actor Richard Dreyfuss, also came forward with allegations.

On the same day Rapp went public with his claims, Spacey came out as gay after years of speculation about his sexuality. The LGBTQ+ community heavily criticized this announcement, with many accusing him of attempting to distract from the serious nature of the allegations.

The consequences were immediate and severe. Netflix fired him from the hit series "House of Cards" as his fall from grace accelerated rapidly.

However, in recent legal developments, a New York jury found Spacey not liable for battery in Rapp's case in 2022. The following year, a London court found him not guilty of nine charges of sexual assault from four complainants. Several other charges and lawsuits have been dropped.

Industry Reactions and Future Prospects

The entertainment industry remains divided on Spacey's potential return to work. Several high-profile Hollywood figures have spoken in his defense, including Liam Neeson, Sharon Stone, and Brian Cox.

"Maybe he got too out of hand, but I don't think he should be punished endlessly for it," Cox told The Hollywood Reporter last December. "There should be a case of forgive and forget. Let's move on. I think he should be given the opportunity to come back to work."

Not all recollections are positive, however. Actor Guy Pearce recalled feeling "targeted" by Spacey during the filming of "L.A. Confidential" in 1997, describing him as "a handsy guy."

Despite the challenges, Spacey remains optimistic about his professional future. He revealed that he and his team have been "in touch with some extremely powerful people who want to put me back to work" and feels confident "that will happen in its right time."

The actor believes the industry is waiting for approval from respected figures. "My feeling is if Martin Scorsese or Quentin Tarantino call [my manager, Evan Lowenstein] tomorrow, it will be over," Spacey said. "I will be incredibly honored and delighted when that level of talent picks up the phone."
