Vancouver-based activewear giant Lululemon has officially unveiled the highly anticipated official kit for Team Canada, set to be worn at the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Italy.
Star-Studded Reveal Event
The brand pulled out all the stops for the launch, enlisting homegrown hockey icon Sidney Crosby to present the new collection. He was joined by a roster of Lululemon Team Canada Ambassadors, including bobsledder Cynthia Appiah, speedskater William Dandjinou, and ice dancer Piper Gilles, lending authentic athlete credibility to the reveal.
Two Years in the Making
This marks Lululemon's third collection for Team Canada, and the company reports the development process took a full two years. A core part of the design philosophy involved direct technical feedback from the athletes who will be competing in the gear. The collection was created in partnership with the Canadian Olympic Committee and the Canadian Paralympic Committee.
Calvin McDonald, CEO of Lululemon, emphasized the collaborative effort in a news release. "In collaboration with Canada’s top athletes, we’ve applied insights and learnings from our last two Games to create a kit with deeper focus on innovation and inclusion," he stated, adding that the company is proud to support Team Canada on the world stage.
Design Focused on Performance and Pride
Unlike the highly collectible red mittens from the 2010 Games, Lululemon's approach for 2026 leans heavily into technical performance. The collection is built around four key design pillars: thermoregulation, inclusivity, Canadian pride, and elevated styling.
Key pieces include the Nylon Taffeta Insulated Jacket, the Shine Wunder Puff Large-Hood Jacket, and the Future Legacy Warm Revelation Beanie. Layering and insulation are central themes, designed to protect athletes from the variable winter conditions in Italy.
Despite the technical focus, national pride is prominently displayed. The collection features bold Canadian flags, maple leafs, and the 'CAN' identifier across various garments, offering fans a functional way to show their support.
The games are scheduled to take place from February 6 to 22, 2026. The launch also provided a first look at the official opening and closing ceremony outfits, signaling the start of the countdown to the winter sporting event.
