A motorcyclist was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries following a crash in Abbotsford, British Columbia, on Saturday evening, according to local police.

The collision occurred in the area of South Fraser Way and Gladwin Road around 6:30 p.m. Police say the motorcyclist sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported via air ambulance to a trauma center in the Lower Mainland.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the crash. No other vehicles appear to have been involved, but officers are asking any witnesses to come forward.
The intersection was closed for several hours as police conducted their investigation and cleared the scene.

"Our thoughts are with the victim and their family during this difficult time," said Constable Mark Johnson of the Abbotsford Police Department. "We are appealing to anyone who may have seen the incident or has dashcam footage to contact us."
The motorcyclist's condition remains critical but stable as of Sunday morning.
